There are many gambling halls located in the commonwealth, the majority on docked scows. There are several other dominant Iowa gambling halls, which includes Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 square feet, 1,212 slots, and 39 table games.

A tinier Iowa gambling den is the Diamond Jo, a water based casino in Dubuque, with 17,813 square feet, 776 slots, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend water based, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 slot machines, and 14 table games. An additional Iowa riverboat casino, The Isle of Capri, is open never closes, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slots, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot paddle wheel boat gambling hall in Clinton, has 506 one armed bandits, 14 table games, live productions, and Thursday 21 matches.

Iowa casinos present a great deal of tax money to the government of Iowa, which has enabled the budgeting of many state wide activities. Tourism has grown at an accelerated rate along with the requirement for services and a growth in employment. Iowa gambling halls have contributed to the expansion of the market, and the affection for gambling in Iowa is across the board.
