Cambodia Casinos

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia casinos that lie just over the border from nearby Thailand, where casino gaming is not permitted. Eight gambling dens are established in a generally tiny area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent spot, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing capital accrued from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few controls requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; although, financing sources are vague. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and even though visas are supposedly necessary to cross, there are methods around this, as is true of most borders.

The original Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just 1 gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored boat gambling den, contains one hundred and fifty slots and sixty table games. The Naga gambling hall is open 24 hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are 150 slots and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred one armed bandits and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and 66 of the familiar tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational vacation and hotel building that contains a number of amenities accompanying the casino, which has 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and 88 gaming tables.
